Much as I would like to present the 2003 Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Professionalism Award to Judge Wald, I long ago agreed to attend the National Association of Women Judges banquet, which will be held at the Mayflower on October 11. The conflict is unfortunate. Many of the members of NAWJ would no doubt want to honor Judge Wald but are bound to attend the NAWJ function.
