Thanks for the inscribed copy of your book and the engaging history lesson I will share with all in chambers.

To my regret, I can’t manage the September 12 event. This year includes the 20th anniversary of my appointment to the Court, also my 80th birthday. As a result of that coincidence, speaking requests have been off the charts. I have already calendared all I can safely bear, and then some, through 2014.

Enclosed for you, program from my April 6 law clerks’ reunion. Recital was arranged by my son and daughter-in-law, and came as a complete surprise to me.
