Thank you very much for sending me a personally inscribed copy of the book, Delaware Supreme Court Golden Anniversary. It is quite informative and I will keep it in my Chamber’s Library.
I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Hutton yesterday. He is a wonderful young man. I am very proud, indeed, that he received the Sandra Day O’Connor Award for Professional Service. He is very deserving of it.
Sincerely,
SandraSandra Day O’Connor

Thank you for your letter. I would be honored, indeed, to have a Sandra Day O’Connor Award established by the American Inns of Court. The Inns of Court development has been such a good thing for the legal profession in this country and it is a particularly fine organization.
I look forward to seeing you on October 13.

Thanks for sending the Delaware Law Weekly and the Bar newsletter. Both welcome mementos of that special meeting. By the way, the Delaware baseball cap you gave me has been appropriated by John. It is his new favorite golf hat.

I have just returned to my Chambers after a summer respite and found your letter waiting for me. I am looking forward to my visit to Delaware on November 19.
The arrangements you describe sound fine to me. I do not know at the moment if I will be able to spend the night in Wilmington. I should be able to let you know within the next month, if that is agreeable. I will also let you know at that time which mode of transportation would be most convenient. My husband will plan to accompany me, but I will notify you if his schedule changes and he is unable to do so.
I look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Sandra Day O’Connor

Georgetown, DE 19947Dear Justice Holland:
Thank you very much for your kind invitation to address the Delaware Bench and Bar on June 4.
I wish it were possible to accept, but, after checking my calendar, I must decline. June is an incredibly busy time and, in addition, we have a Court Conference scheduled on June 5. I feel I just cannot plan to give an out of town speech the night before. I am sorry. It is disappointing to be unable to participate in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Delaware’s Constitution.
Best wishes.
Sincerely,
Sandra Day O’Connor
